cut the crap
the single most important ingredient to being a successful freelancer is the ability to multitask. i like to think i am my own boss, but in reality, i work for a portfolio of companies and individuals, each with varying needs and expectations.
marketing, writing, and social media are deadline driven beasts. thanks to jesus and constant hustle i have multiple projects as well as my upcoming nuptials on the calendar for spring.
while balancing this awesomeness, i developed a seriously nasty habit. to stay on top of my shiznit, i have been texting and checking emails while i drive. i know… i know…
today i swerved out of my lane a smidge while glancing at my phone. the car in the left lane shot me a beep and a disapproving glance. i sheepishly nodded an apology, threw my phone in my handbag, and promised myself i would cut the crap.
being busy is no excuse for being dumb.
as a ‘write it down to make it real’ gal, i know the only way i will follow through on my vow is to publicly declare my stupidity.
any comrades down to join me in keeping car rides totally phone free (even if it rings!)?
i am so psyched to get back to basics and fill my rides with rock and roll and nose picking like the good lord intended.
